This is the first printing of the first edition of I'll Climb Mount Everest Alone. The Story Of Maurice Wilson. It was published in London by Robert Hale in 1957. The book measures 221mm tall x 14cm, and has 158 pages, 19 b/w photos, index. The incredible story of Maurice Wilson who tried to climb Everest alone in 1934. Very entertaining, fascinating read. Wilson first wanted to fly a plane to base of Everest—so he bought a plane & then learned to fly—but authorities blocked him after he flew to India. Next he sneaked overland with 3 Sherpas to the mountain. He died below the North Col & was found in 1935 by Shipton with his diary.

CONDITION: Original lime cloth, gilt lettering spine. Very good condition with previous owner name on front pastedown, no other marks or writing on any pages, some fading at spine ends, foxing on a few pages (most pages have no foxing), tight binding, clean covers. Original dust wrapper is present: 2cm x 5mm chip upper spine corner, 3cm x 6mm chip lower front corner, 1cm x 5mm chip lower rear, tips corners rubbed through, a little grubbiness rear panel, clipped flap corner.
