This is the first printing of the first USA edition of MONT BLANC TO EVEREST by Gaston Rébuffat. This book was published in New York by Studio Publications in 1956. The book measures 257mm tall x 191mm, and has 158 pages, 69 photogravure plates (8 in color). Text covers some of the author’s climbs, with 13 pages of text on his part in the 1950 first ascent of Annapurna expedition. This is one of the few first-person accounts in english of the Annapurna expedition (others are Herzog’s and Terray’s). Includes many good climbing & mountain photos of the Alps, Ruwenzori, Andes, Himalaya, Karakoram.

CONDITION: Original blue cloth with gilt lettering spine. The book has clean covers, no fading, no rubbing, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, tight binding, no foxing. The dust jacket has some rubbing at the corners, a 1cm small loss at top spine corner, 2cm tear lower rear. Price: $40.
