This is the 1983 deluxe reproduction of VOYAGE PITTORESQUE DANS LA VALLEE DE CHAMOUNI ET AUTOUR DU MONT-BLANC by Desire Raoul-Rochette . This book was published in Grenoble by Glenat in 1983. It is a carefully crafted reproduction of the 1826 original that is virtually unobtainable, the original fetching up to $25,000 at auctions. The book measures 313mm tall x 245mm, and has [13] + 2-page map + [180] pages [count includes blanks and blank versos] including 40 full-page color illustrations (blank versos). Each illustration has 1 to 3 pages of descriptive text following it. These classic illustrations are by Gabriel and Mathias Lory, J.L.P. Coignet, M. Meuron, and J.F. D'Ostervald. The descriptive text following each view is by Raoul-Rochette. Like the original edition this publication has no page numbering.

CONDITION: Original color pictorial covers with imitation leather corners and spine with gilt lettering, red EPs, red silk page-mark ribbon. The pages are high quality heavy-stock paper. Original clear plastice protective wrapper, Original color pictorial slipcase. The book is in near fine condition with no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, no foxing, tight binding. The plastice wrapper is fine. The slipcase has minor rubbing at tips of corners. Price: $165.
