This is the first printing of the first edition of MYSTERIOUS SAHARA -- THE LAND OF GOLD, OF SAND, AND OF RUIN by Count Byron Khun de Prorok. This book was published in 1929 by The Reilly & Lee Co. in Chicago. The book measures 242mm tall x 169mm, and has 348 pages, color frontispiece + 40 b/w photos, EP map, 1 folding map, index. Account of author's exploration of the Hoggar region where he encountered the Taureg tribesmen and unearthed the tomb of Queen Tin Hinan, Siwa Oasis and Temple of Jupiter-Ammon (Egypt), deserts in Tunisia and Libya.

CONDITION: Original black cloth with gilt lettering front cover & spine. The book is in fine condition with clean covers, tight binding, no foxing, previous owner name and address neatly penned to short title page and dated 1932, no other owner marks or writing on any pages. The rare original dust jacket is present with small loss at spine ends and corner tips, small loss bottom rear edges, clean. Price: $350.
