This is the first printing of the first edition of CANADIANS ON EVEREST by Bruce Patterson. This book was published in Calgary by Detselig Enterprises in 1990. The book measures 248mm tall x 162mm and has 239 pages, b/w & color photos, sketches, EP maps. Accounts of four Canadian Everest expeditions: in 1982 first Canadians to reach the top, in 1986 Sharon Wood became first N American woman to reach top and the only woman to make the first ascent of a new route on Everest, in 1987 Roger Marshall was killed in fall at base of Superdirect after descending from solo attempt, in 1988 Barry Blanchard & Marc Twight (American) made attempts from the north. John Amatt was a member of the 1982 Everest team. He also is noted for having made the first ascent of Norway’s Troll Wall and the Sondre Trolltind wall.

CONDITION: Original blue boards, silver lettering spine. The dust wrapper is in nice condition: no chips, no tears, clean. The book is in fine condition with fading very ends of spine, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, no foxing, tight binding, clean. It is signed on the title page by John Amatt. Price: $35.
