CONDITION: Original publisher's light tan buckram with original publisher's leather title and publisher labels on spine stamped with gilt lettering. This is the true first UK edition of the book. Often the first USA edition is confused with the first UK edition because all pages and printing on pages is identical between the two. The only difference is the publisher's name on the label near the bottom of the spine. The UK edition has "T. Fisher Unwin" on the spine label. The USA edition has "Scribners" on the spine label. The book being offered here is the first UK edition. The book covers are relatively clean and unrubbed, and the leather spine labels are in good condition. Often the spine labels are chipped and badly damaged. Internally there is minor foxing on endpages, just a little foxing on a few other pages (not bad). Overall, one of the best examples of this book that we have had. Price: SOLD.
