This is the first printing of the first edition of STURM AM MANASLU: HIMALAYA-EXPEDITIONS-REPORT by Reinhold Messner. This book was published in 1972 by BLV in München. Reinhold Messner has signed and dated this book on the title page. The book measures 206mm tall x 135mm, and has 156 pages, 3 color & 32 b/w photos & 1 b/w folding panorama, 4 maps. Text in german, no english edition. Messner’s second Himalaya climbing book (4th book overall). This is one of Messner's major books that has never been translated into english. This book is his account of his successful ascent of Manaslu but loss of climbers in a storm on the summit plateau. Like the 1970 Nanga Parbat ascent, this climb of Manaslu fueled post-expedition criticism of Messner. First editions of this book signed by Messner are uncommon.

CONDITION: Original glossy paperback binding (no hardcover issued), color photo of high campsite on front cover, orange lettering front, white lettering spine. The book has some rubbing at the cover corners, no loose pages, clean, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, tight binding, no foxing. The title page has been signed and dated by Rienhold Messner. Price: $175.
