The book measures 233mm tall x 155mm, and has 322 pages, 221 b/w & 60 color photos, 5 maps, Everest book list. First solo ascent of Everest without use of supplemental O2 or any support or pre-made steps. Messner’s reflections, response, & emotional reaction to his climb & journey through Tibet. Good history of early attempts & climbs of Everest. One of the greatest pre-crowded climbs of Everest.

CONDITION: Original black boards with gilt lettering on spine. The book is in fine condition with no fading, no rubbing, clean. Previous owner name is penned to corner of the FFEP, inscribed and signed by Messner on the pre-title page, no other previous owner marks or writing on any pages, tight binding. The original dust jacket is in fine condition with no tears or chips. Price: $175.
