The book measures 209mm tall x 135mm, and has 160 pages, 26 b/w & 4 color photos, 1 map. The first edition is the only hardcover version of the book. This is one of the scarcest Messner titles in english.

CONDITION: Original red boards with gilt lettering spine. Original dust jacket is present in nice condition with no tears, no chips, no rubbing, but the red spine lettering is faded as usual. Book is in nice condition with no marks, no rubbing, dated short gift inscription on blank FFEP otherwise no writing or marks on any pages, no foxing, no folded or creased page corners, clean, tight binding, no fading.
