This is the first printing of the first UK edition of THE SLEDGE PATROL by David Howarth. This book was published in London by Collins in 1957. The book measures 21cm tall x 14cm and has 255 pages, 14 b/w photos, 3 maps + EP maps. The exciting story of battle between 19 Germans and 6 Danes, 3 Norwegians, 6 Eskimos on NE coast of Greenland, WWII. Both sides were operating weather stations. Engagement, capture & reversal, arctic survival (where enemies worked together against the hostile environment). Lots of surprises. Good book inspiring optimism, distinguishing murder & war & the futility of both.

CONDITION: Original blue cloth, gilt lettering spine. The book is in fine condition. The jacket has a 3cm tear upper rear and some tiny edge loss at top of spine and lower rear edge. Price: SOLD
