This is the 1968 paperback printing of EVEREST THE WEST RIDGE by Tom Hornbein. This book was published in San Francisco by The Sierra Club in 1968. Classic account of the first ascent of this route & the first traverse of the peak. This was the first time that a new route was climbed on an 8000 meter peak, a route that still repulses most modern attempts to climb it.

CONDITION: Original paperback. Tiny 3mm chip lower spine corner, no tears, relatively clean, solid binding, other than Hornbein's signature on the title page there are no previous owner marks or writing on any pages. Price: SOLD.
