The USA edition was published before the UK edition and has color photos (UK ed does not) and more photos than the UK edition. Account of the Himalayan Scientific & Mountaineering Expedition, 1960-61. The expedition had objectives of searching for the yeti, studying prolonged effects of staying above 19000', climb Makalu. Yeti results were interesting, Makalu climb near disastrous but quite close to summit, effects of staying high long clearly shown to be deleterious. Team members Barry Bishop, Mike Ward, Wally Ramones, & Mike Gill made the first ascent of Ama Dablam (6856m), a fine climb.

The book is in clean, sharp condition with very minor bumps corners, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages (other than Hillary's signature), no foxing, solid binding. The dust jacket has two small 5mm tears upper edge, some rubbing at the corners. Price: $125.
