This is the first printing of the first edition of THE TETON PEAKS AND THEIR ASCENTS by Fritiof Fryxell. This book was published in Grand Teton National Park by Crandall Studios in 1932. The book meausres 196mm tall x 127mm, and has 105 pages, 18 b/w photos, folding map, index. This is the first book on technical climbing in the Tetons. This is a history of ascents, but the route descriptions are fully detailed, enough to have made this useful as a guidebook. The author, a prominent geologist who did considerable field work in the Tetons, was a very active pioneering climber in the range. Very scarce book.

CONDITION: Original ribbed brown cloth with gilt lettering front and spine, small gilt decoration front. Near fine condition with just a hint of fading to spine and slight dulling of spine gilt. SIGNED by Fritiof Fryxell on the title page. No previous owner marks or writing. Tight binding. Clean pages with no foxing. Loose (as issued) folding map is in fine condition. NOT ex-library. Price: SOLD.
