This is the original issue of COMMEMORATIVE STAMP & MEDAL OF THE FIRST ASCENT OF MOUNT EVEREST by the Kingdom of Nepal. The envelope has been hand-signed (not stamped or printed) in pen by Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary. The ensemble was published in 1978 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the first ascent of Mt. Everest. The evelope front measures 115mm tall x 204mm. The medal appears to be sterling silver and has a diameter of 32mm. The envelope and medal are housed in the original padded vinyl folding wallet inside a clear plastic sleeve.
