This is the first printing of the first edition of SHAWANGUNK ROCK CLIMBING by Richard Dumais. This book was published in 1985 by Chockstone in Denver. The book measures 285mm tall x 200mm, and has 119 pages, 75 color & 30 b/w photos. This is the best photo album of climbing in the Shawangunks. Nearly all the photos show climbers in action on the classic routes, most between 5.6 & 5.12. These photos were taken from ground, top, on-route, and parallel climbs. The text is a very good history of climbing development in the area especially between 1960 & 1980.

CONDITION: Original dark green cloth, gilt lettering cover & spine. The book is in fine condition with no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, no foxing, solid binding, clean. The dust jacket is in nice condition but has some of the usual light fading to spine and edges. Price: $35.
