This is the first paperback edition of ONE GREEN BOTTLE by Elizabeth Coxhead. This book was published in London by Fontana Books (a division of Collins Clear-Type Press) in 1955. It is the first paperback edition of the book that was originally published in hardcover in 1951 and only reprinted twice in hardcover (once in 1951 and once in 1973). The copy offered here appears to be the only paperback printing. The book measures 179mm tall x 108mm and has 252 pages + 4 pages of advertisements. Novel involving climbing & romance in Snowdonia. This book was condemned by the Bishop of Chester for its explicitness. Presents the firming-up of a personality through a variety of experiences including climbing. Neate praised this as being one of the finest climbing novels ever. According to the blurb on the back copy of this edition, early Everest climber Jack Longland considered this "By far the best novel about climbing I have read."

CONDITION: Original paperback. Covers complete but worn at edges with crease marks at corners, inside EPs have old cello tape marks (tape now gone) at hinge, solid binding, some usual age tanning of pages, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages. Price: $25.
