This is the first printing of the first edition of MOUNT HOOD -- Adventures of the Wy'east Climbers of 1930-1942 by Ric Conrad. This book was published in Beaverton by Kahuna Books in 2014. The book measures 235mm tall x 155mm, and has 379 pages + [2], 16 b/w photos on plates, b/w frontis photo, 4 b/w route photos, 39 b/w drawings, 38 small b/w chapter heading photos, glossary, large bibliography, index.

This is the first detailed history of the pioneering climbing period on Mt Hood when many of the main routes on the mountain were first climbed. The author interviewed many of the climbers and carried out extensive research of archives, creating here a history not just of the climbing but of the climbers and the environment of the time. This also covers the creation of the first Ski Patrol on Mt Hood and organization of the first mountain rescue units.
