This is the 1999 reprint of the original 1911 edition of THE CANADIAN ROCKIES. NEW AND OLD TRAILS. It was published in Calgary by Aquila Books in 1999. The book measures 227mm tall x 145mm being an exact facsimile edition of the original printing (383pp, 4 maps of which 3 are folding, 41 b/w photos) with additional new 53 page historical & biographical introduction by R. Sandford, plus 6 newly added b/w photos. This reprint was painstakingly made to replicate very closely the original edition. The covers & cover stamping & illustration are nearly an identical match to the original. The binding is solid (sewn) and the pages are quality paper (not cheap thin stuff). Exploration & climbing in the Canadian Rockies & Selkirks starting in 1884. A large part describes the first attempts to climb Mt Robson, all spearheaded by the author. A Canadian Rockies mountaineering classic.
