HOW TO SKI

AND HOW NOT TO

BY VIVIAN CAULFEILD

1932 EDITION

VERY UNCOMMON NICE DUST JACKET

EARLY SKI INSTRUCTION

This is the 1932 edition of HOW TO SKI AND HOW NOT TO by Vivian Caulfeild. This book was published in London by Nisbet & Co in 1932. The first edition was published back in 1911, being one of the first books on skiing published in english. This edition has been substantially revised. The original dust jacket is quite uncommon. The book measures 195mm tall x 133mm, and has 286 pages + [1] page of advertisement, 59 b/w photos, 47 b/w figures in the text. The back of the dust jacket notes, "The cloth in which this book is bound is washable, and will not be damaged by rain spots or damp fingers." This is likely an exageration and should not be tested.

CONDITION: Original green cloth with white lettering front cover & spine. The book is in very good condition with clean covers (one small 3mm spot on rear cover), no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, fore-edge foxing but very little foxing on pages, solid binding. The original dust jacket is in unusually nice condition, clean, minor loss to tips of upper spine corners. Much better than average condition for a book that almost always is found with faded spine. The dust jacket is almost never found with the book. Price: $250.
