This is the first printing of the first German language edition of MOUNT EVEREST DER ANGRIFF 1922 by C. G. Bruce. This is the first German translation of THE ASSAULT ON EVEREST 1922. This book was published in 1924 by Benno Schwabe & Co. in Basel Switzerland, translated by W. Rickmer Rickmers, renowned pioneer of ski mountaineering. The book measures 247mm tall x 171mm, and has 199 pages, 35 b/w photos on 33 plates, 2 folding color maps, index. The text is in german. The original dust jacket is rare.

CONDITION: Original dark navy cloth, gilt lettering cover & spine, embossed border and rule front cover. The book is in nice condition with tight binding, clean covers, light foxing on a few plates but generally free of foxing, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages. The original rare dust jacket has a 2cm tear upper spine, 4cm tear lower front corner, minor loss at top of spine. Price: $250.
