This is the 1972 printing of the UK edition of THE HARD YEARS: AN AUTOBIOGRAPHY by Joe Brown. It was published in London by Rupert Victor Gollancz LTD in 1962. The book measures 222mm tall x 140mm, and has 256 pages, 43 b/w photos, index. This has the same format, size, and contents as the 1967 first printing. Brown’s autobiographical account, published at age 37, of his many climbs 1949-1963: Alps, Kangchenjunga, Mustagh Tower, UK rock, Pamirs. This is the collection of his early climbs as Brown has accomplished many fine ascents since writing this book.

CONDITION: Original textured blue boards, spine lettered in gilt. Original dust jacket has rubbing at corners, some surface scuffs lower front, 15mm tear top of spine with crinkle. The book is in nice condition with clean covers, tight binding, no foxing, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages. Price: $25.
