This is the second printing of the first edition of KNOW-HOW IN THE SURF by John Bloomfield. This book was published in 1971. This is the second printing of the 1965 original USA edition. The book was initially published in Australia in 1959, making it one of the earliest comprehensive books on surfing. This printing has been revised slightly and has some updated photos that are not in the first printings. The book measures 215mm tall x 142mm, and has 205 pages, 36 b/w photos, bibliography, glossary. The book is mainly in three sections: general surfing informatin and techiques, equipment, a description of the Surf Carnival competion events in Australia and training techniques (mainly conditioning) for them.

CONDITION: Original blue hardcover with red and white lettering front cover & spine. The book is in nice clean condition with no wear, no foxing, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, clean -- almost like new but there is a small red dot on the bottom edge of the text block (see photo). The original dust jacket is in much bettern than average condition with no chips, no tears, clean. Price: $25.
