This is the 1949 first edition of Climber's Guide To The Cascade And Olympic Mountains of Washington by Fred Beckey. This book was published in New York by The American Alpine Club in 1949. This is the first printing of the first edition of one of the most circulated of all N American mountaineering guidebooks (still in print, now in multiple sections). Early editions of the guidebook have become scarce. Beckey told me that he thought there were probably 500 copies or less produced. The book measures 168mm tall x 107mm, and has 271 pages, 8 b/w photos, folding map rear.

CONDITION: Original green cloth, gilt lettering cover and spine. The book has a small spot front cover, a larger smudge-like spot rear cover, no owner marks or writing on pages, solid binding, no foxing. Price: SOLD.
