POSTAGE CHARGES: Customer is to pay postage, insurance, and tracking expenses (elective or required). Regular ground mail to USA addresses is $4.50 for the first book and $1.00 for each additional book when the books are normal in size (= not huge). Some books are very large and heavy. In those cases the cost of shipping will be higher. We will always quote the exact amount for shipping those items. For items that exceed $250, we require insurance or signed/registered tracking for new customers. Established customers are exempt from such charges, but we ask that you remind us that you have made prior purchases from our store. We let the customer choose the type of shipping: USPS Media Mail, USPS Priority Mail, USPS international M-BAG air mail (by far the cheapest for heavy parcels where first 11 pounds = 4.9 kg costs $69.30 & $6.30 for each additional pound to Western Europe & UK; $55.00 & $5.00 each additional pound to Canada; $98.45 + $8.95 to Australia and Japan; $95.15 + $8.65 to New Zealand). International surface mail is no longer offered by the USPS. Private carriers such as UPS, FEDEX, DHL can be employed, but in most cases they cost much more than USPS services. We charge only the actual cost of shipping which we will quote to customers. Note to foreign buyers: USPS is almost always cheaper than the private shippers, though some special deals are beginning to be offered.
