BRADFORD ON MOUNT FAIRWEATHER

BY BRADFORD WASHBURN

FIRST PRINTING OF FIRST EDITION 1930

VERY SCARCE BOOK

WITH EVEN SCARCER DUST JACKET

This is the first edition & first printing of BRADFORD ON MOUNT FAIRWEATHER. It was published in New York by G. P. Putnam's Sons in 1930. The book measures 201mm tall x 140mm and has has 127 pages, 32 b/w photo plates, 3 maps, food list. Story of the second attempt on Fairweather in Alaska. Probably the scarcest Washburn book.

CONDITION: Original blue cloth with black lettering spine, photo-decorated EPs. Significantly better condition than most copies because the dust jacket has limited the fading on the spine and edges which are normally found quite faded. Tiny bit of fraying very top edge of spine, clean covers, no previous owner names or writing on any pages, no foxing, tight binding, crease mark (probably dating to time of binding since it would be hard to make it after the book was bound) on title page and following 4 leaves. The scarce dust jacket has a 5cm deep chip to top area of spine (now with a poor photocopy of that section loosely -- not attached with any adhesive -- placed there under the jacket protector), 2cm deep chip lower spine corner, 2cm x 2cm chip upper rear, some chipping along top front edge with partial loss of "F" in Bradford. There are no repairs on the jacket itself. Lines and marks are on the backing of the jacket protector, not on the jacket. Price: SOLD.
