This is the first edition & first printing of AMONG THE ALPS WITH BRADFORD. It was published in New York by G. P. Putnam's Sons in 1927. The book measures 201mm tall x 140mm and has 44 b/w photos, 160 pages, 28 sketches, EP maps. Washburn’s youthful climbs in the Alps with his brother, Georges Tairraz, & guides Antoine Ravanel & Georges Charlet: some history, Grands Charmoz-Grépon traverse via Mummery Crack, & chapter on ski ascent & descent of Mont Blanc.

CONDITION: Original ribbed orange cloth, black lettering front & spine, EP maps. The book is in better condition than most copies since the dust jacket has kept light from seriously fading the covers. There is some fading to the cover lettering, very clean covers, some very very faint foxing-like spots on covers (barely detectable), minor rubbing lower corner tips, tight binding, no foxing, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages. The scarce original dust jacket has unfaded spine which is usually found faded and washed-out, 1cm chip upper rear near spine corner, smaller chips at corners up to 5mm, rubbing along spine creases, 3cm tear upper rear, faint stamp (not ex-library) in ink of date "DEC 25 1928" on front panel under the title, flaps not clipped.
