This is the 1998 quality reprint of the 1903 original CLIMBS & EXPLORATIONS IN THE CANADIAN ROCKIES. It was published in Calgary in 1998 by Aquila Books. The book measures 228mm tall x 14mm, and has 343 pages, 56 half-page & 24 full-page b/w photos, fldg colour map, index. This reprint was painstakingly made to replicate very closely the original edition. The covers & cover stamping are nearly an identical match to the original. The binding is solid (sewn) and the pages are quality paper (not cheap thin stuff). It includes a new 8 page historical introduction by Bob Sandford. One of the early classics of Canadian Rockies. 1st ascents of Mt Lefroy, Victoria, Athabasca, Diadem, Forbes, Howse, Murchison, Freshfield, Mumm, etc.; and primary exploration including discovery of the Columbia Icefield. This is exact facsimile of the original bound with cloth & gilt lettering that identically match the 1903 original.
