CAMP SIX

By Frank Smythe

1956 A & C Black edition

This is the 1956 UK edition of CAMP SIX by Frank Smythe. It was published in London by Adam & Charles Black in 1956. The book measures 220mm tall x 139mm, and has 219 pages, and 8 b/w photos. Originally published in 1937, other than a new foreward by John Hunt, this edition has the same text but fewer photos. One of the best accounts of an early Everest attempt, the 1933 expedition. Irvine’s ice axe was found high on the mountain. Smythe made impressive solo push high up reaching about 8570m. He carefully describes his sensing of a ghost “companion” & seeing pulsating UFO’s hovering over Everest while he was alone.
