THE STORY OF SHACKLETON'S LAST EXPEDITION 1914-1917
BY SIR ERNEST SHACKLETON
1920 SECOND PRINTING
CLASSIC OF ANTARCTIC LITERATURE AMAZING TRUE ADVENTURE
CONDITION: Original dark green ribbed cloth, gilt lettering spine. The covers are relatively clean and not faded but there are a few minor small spots (see photo), previous owner bookplate on front pastedown (not institutional library) and a small Xmas card mounted on blank FFEP via 4 slits in the paper where the card corners are inserted, no other previous owner marks or writing on any pages, no foxing, solid binding. Original folding map has been expertly re-attached. It was thought that this original map was missing from the book until a customer pointed out that there was a loose map tucked in between pages near the middle of the book. That map is the original map that the former owner must have pulled out to consult while reading. It has now been seemlessly attached back to the page where it belongs. Price: $125.
