This is the first edition & first printing of MENLOVE. THE LIFE OF JOHN MENLOVE EDWARDS. It was published in London by Gollancz in 1985. The book measures 235mm tall x 155mm and has 347 pages, 43 b/w photos, index. This is a fascinating biography of one of Britainís leading pre-WWII rock climbing pioneers. Edwards was driven & troubled & talented; his purest & most peaceful moments were probably found on the British cliffs. He committed suicide in 1958. This book was the winner of the 1985 Boardman-Tasker Award.

CONDITION: Original green boards with gilt lettering spine. Signed by Jim Perrin in pen on the title page. Original dust jacket is in fine condition. The book is in fine condition with no previous owner's marks or writing on any pages (I bought this book new from a distributor years ago). Price: $175.
