This is the 1975 paperback printing of NO PLACE FOR MEN by Peter Mulgrew. This book was published in Auckland by Fontana Silver Fern & Collins in 1975. The book measures 189mm tall x 122mm and has 199 pages, 52 b/w photos, 2 maps, glossary, index. This has the same contents and same photos as the hardcover edition. Account of Hillary’s 1960 Makalu expedition, experimenting & climbing without supplemental oxygen. The author suffered severe frostbite after getting a blood clot in his lung. The author, Nevison, & Sherpa Annulu came within 400' of summit before the author was stricken by the pulmonary thrombosis. Interesting chapters on the hell of surviving frostbite and amputations. This edition has more photos than US edition.

CONDITION: Original paperback. Minor rubbing to edges, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, no foxing, solid binding. Price: $11.
