This is the first printing of the first edition of MT MCKINLEY: THE PIONEER CLIMBS by Terris Moore. This book was published in College Alaska by University of Alaska Press in 1967. The book measures 236mm tall x 15cm, and has 202 pages, 41 b/w photos, 7 maps, index. Excellent history of climbs and exploration of McKinley. Author was a pioneer climber in Alaska who made several significant first ascents, the 3rd ascent of Mt. McKinley with Washburn, & joined the 1942 Wartime Denali Expedition (includes chapter on this). Moore was also a ropeleader on the first ascent of Minya Konka. This has one of the most detailed discussions of the Cook controversy and evidence (not pro-Cook). The book includes an extensive bibliography and detailed notes.

CONDITION: Original bluish grey cloth with blue lettering front cover and spine. The book is in very good condition: some faint smudges to covers, no rubbing, tight binding, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages. The dust jacket has some rubbing at the corners, a 3mm tear lower rear. Price: $20.
