This is the first printing of On Edge. The Life And Climbs Of Henry Barber. It was published in Boston by the Appalachian Mountain Club in 1982. The book measures 235mm tall x 15cm and has 291 pages, 90 b/w photos, glossary. Barber was a climbing superstar before it was popular or common to be one. Many hard climbs UK, Yosemite, Australia, Dresden, Tien Shan, early waterfall ice ascents. CONDITION: original navy boards, gilt lettering spine. Signed by Henry Barber on the blank FFEP. Barber signed this book for us at a mountaineering gathering. A rough and tough climber, he is also an eloquent gentleman. Book is in FINE condition. The dust jacket has a clean 2cm tear upper front, a 15m tear lower rear with a bit of flecking, minor edge wear. Price: $50.
