This a 1954 reprint of THE CONQUEST OF EVEREST by Sir John Hunt with a chapter on the final assault by Sir Edmund Hillary. It was published in New York by E. P. Dutton & Company in 1954. This is basically the same as the first USA edition with all photos and diagrams and content the same as the first edition. Same size and similar binding to that of the first edition. It measures 221mm tall x 145mm, and has 300 pages, 71 b/w & 8 color photos, 4 maps, sketches, 9 appendices, glossary, index. Not a bad read considering how quickly this book was written.

CONDITION: Original blue cloth boards with decoration of Everest front cover, beige cloth spine with navy title patch and beige lettering. Worn Dust Jacket (1cm deep chips at spine ends, fading spine, big chunk of rear flap missing (see photo), book is in nice condition with clean covers, tight binding, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, complete with all pages & plates, tiny punch mark on spine (looks like a tiny pinhead dot), minor bump very bottom edge rear cover, VG+ Price: $5.
