This is the first USA edition of I COME FROM THE STONE AGE. Harrer signed this book on the pre-title page. It was published in New York by Dutton in 1965. It measures 234mm tall x 156mm and has 256 pages, 5 maps, 38 photos (18 in color). Account, in diary form, of the first ascent of Carstenz Pyramid, considered by many to be one of the seven summits (the opposing opinion views Mt. Kosciusko in Australia as the 7th summit). This book describes eight first ascents in the Carstenz Range, including the 1st ascent of Carstenz Pyramid (16500') in 1962 with Philip Temple. It is one of few books on climbing New Guinea’s Mountains. Harrer said that this was his most difficult and dangerous expedition.

CONDITION: Original red cloth, orange decoration cover & lettering spine. original dust jacket is in fair condition (15mm tear lower front near spine, usual light rubbing at flap folds, usual fading to red spine lettering). The book is in near fine condition with no writing or previous owner's marks on any pages, edges are clean and unmarked, no page corners are folded, no foxing, tight binding. Price: $250.
