This is a finely produced facsimile of the rare 1850 first edition of AN ARCTIC VOYAGE TO BAFFIN'S BAY AND LANCASTER SOUND, IN SEARCH OF FRIENDS WITH SIR JOHN FRANKLIN by Robert Anstruther Goodsir. This book was published in 1996 by The Arctic Press in Plaistow & Sutton Coldfield, U.K. There were 500 copies produced. This copy is unnumbered (see photo below). The book measures 201mm tall x 124mm, and has 152 pages, b/w frontispiece illustration, one folding map. The author accompanied the whaler, Advice, captained by William Penney, searching in 1849 for his brother, Harry, who was among the missing members of the 1845 Franklin expedition. The search was made during the course of whaling operations.

CONDITION: Original navy cloth with gilt lettering spine, black coated EPs. Issued without DJ but in clear plastic sleave. Flawless new condition. Price: $45.
