This is the first printing of the first USA edition of SCOTT OF THE ANTARCTIC. A LIFE OF COURAGE AND TRAGEDY by David Crane. This book was published in 2006 by Alfred A. Knopf in New York. The book measures 242mm tall x 165mm, and has 572 pages, 34 b/w photos, 9 maps, bibliography, index. One of the most detailed biographies of Robert Falcon Scott with many quotations from his personal correspondence and diaries. Scott was leader of the Discovery expedition from 1901 to 1904 and the Terra Nova expedition from 1910 to 1913 where he perished with his party in 1912 after reaching the South Pole.
