The book measures 219mm tall x 141mm, and has 252 pages, 27 b/w photos, folding map, index. Conway’s account of his ascent of Aconcagua which should have been the 3rd ascent but he stopped several meters short of the summit supposedly out of respect for Fitzgerald’s expedition, not wanting to minimize FitzGerald’s success. Second part is on his attempt, the first ever, to climb Mt Sarmiento, once thought to be the highest of the region (finally climbed by Italians C. Mauri & C. Maffie in 1956). This is the least common of Conway's mountaineering books.
