This is the first printing of the first UK edition of THE CANADIAN ROCKIES NEW AND OLD TRAILS by A. P. Coleman. This book was published in London by T. Fisher Unwin in 1911. The book measures 227mm tall x 145mm, and has 383 pages, 4 maps (3 folding), 41 b/w photos, index. Includes the color Canadian Pacific Railway map the was not bound in many copies of the book. Exploration & climbing in the Canadian Rockies & Selkirks starting in 1884. A large part describes the very first attempts to climb Mt Robson, all spearheaded by the author. One of the few classic books on pioneering climbing in the Canadian Rockies, a nicely produced book with good photos, maps, and a decorated binding.

CONDITION: Original bluish green cloth, color pictorial cover, gilt lettering cover & spine, debossed border front. Previous owner name covered with a black pen streak first blank page above an old date, "1916", no other previous owner marks or writing on any pages, clean covers, solid binding, minor foxing opposite a few plates but mostly completely free of foxing, minor rubbing tips corners, near Fine. Price: $350.
