This is the first printing of the first edition of CITIZEN OF TWO WORLDS by Mohammad Ata-Ullah. This book was published in New York by Harper & Brothers in 1960. The book measures 218cm tall x 143mm and has 285 pages. Autobiography. The author was a medical doctor and officer in the Army of the British Raj of Pakistan. He was the only Pakistani full member of the 1953 American K2 expedition. There are 5 chapters describing the 1953 expedition. He was also a member of Desio’s 1954 K2 expedition. There are 2 chapters on the 1954 expedition. This book is surprisingly uncommon.

CONDITION: Original purple cloth, gilt lettering spine, gilt publisher’s emblem front cover. The original DJ is in better than average condition for this book (usually found quite worn and rubbed): 5mm tear upper rear, minor rubbing tips corners and spine edge, price-clipped flap corner. The book is in near fine condition with slight sunning to spine cloth, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, tight binding, no foxing. Price: SOLD.
